February shropgeek meetup

Snowy Ludlow - Photographed by Zach BeauvaisThe ‘geeky new year celebration’ has been and gone. It was a great success (despite the snow) and massive thanks go to @zbeauvais and his wife for allowing us to crash their house and also ply us with mulled wine and mince pies! ~ grin!

As always, there were some great topics discussed. Including the new iSlate, varying service levels of ISP’s in Shropshire, and most importantly Zach’s rebellious days when he had a more ‘alternative’ look. I’m saying nothing else except until I see photographic proof I don’t believe it! ~ grin!

We are now looking toward the next meetupĀ  and have decided it
is going to be on
February 5th 2010 at The Admiral Benbow in Shrewsbury.

As always, anyone is welcome and we can promise beer and good conversation!

The previous meetup in Shrewsbury was a great success and the venue was excellent. With that in mind, and our apparent inability to regularly organize things in advance, we are thinking about either always meeting at the same place or alternating between the same place in Ludlow and the same in Shrewsbury. Or maybe setting the first friday of every month as @shropgeek night (and then rearrange if people can’t make it).

Everybody leads a busy life these days and we are no different. We have been guilty in the past of missing a meetup some months because we are all were to busy to organize anything. So any suggestions on the best way to organize a regular monthly meetup is appreciated. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

Kirsty
