By now, everybody that comes to Shropgeek should know Kirsty. In case you don’t, she is a web designer / WordPress developer living and working in Shropshire. She is also one of the main organisers of all of the Shropgeek events.
Having said in the past that the Rebellion events should be considered a safe space where people can either give a talk for the first time or practice a talk and get some honest feedback, she is putting her money where her mouth is, and will be doing a trial run of a talk she will be giving later in the summer.
Talk: Its a question of deliverables
There has been a lot of talk about responsive design over the last few years, it is easy to forget that before we can go near any code we have to sell it to the client first. And, as if that wasn’t hard enough, we then have to manage the clients expectations at each stage of the project without succumbing to the temptation of providing pixel perfect designs.
After making the decision to only build responsive websites about 3 years ago, my workflow, how I managed clients and what deliverables I provided had to change drastically. I plan to share the good, the bad and the ugly of making that transition to selling and building responsive websites only.
